The exhibition was organized by professional associations of Russian and German machine builders – Rosspetsmash Association and VDMA Landtecknik, the strategic sponsor of the event was Agroreport magazine.

The exhibition organizers followed all recommendations of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing.

AGROSALON was visited by 22,912 people from 72 federal subjects of the Russian Federation for four days. Traditionally, this year agricultural producers could come as a group. This year the exhibition was held under conditions of closed borders of the Russian Federation that reduced the number of foreign delegates. AGROSALON was visited by delegations of ambassadors and diplomatic officials from 29 countries, as well as governors and agriculture ministers from 10 regions of Russia.

AGROSALON 2020 was attended by 465 companies, including 89 foreign companies from 19 countries: Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India , Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United States of America. Thanks to the profound interest of foreign partners, national pavilions of Germany and Italy were established. Italy was represented by 18 companies, and Germany – by 17. 

The exposition covered all areas of agricultural machinery and presented over a thousand exhibits, including 379 samples of machinery and equipment. The AGROSALON guests saw not only brand new samples of agricultural machinery but also improved modifications of existing equipment.

AGROSALON 2020 business program included more than 20 events attended by government officials, equipment manufacturers, owners of agricultural holdings, heads of service and dealer companies, industry experts and mass media representatives.

On 5 October, ahead of the exhibition, traditionally the Russian Agrotechnical Forum was held, the key topic of which was “Agro-Industry and KOVID-Crisis: Consequences, Development Scenarios, and Future”. The Forum was attended by Aleksandr Morozov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Roman Nekrasov, Director of the Department of Crop Production, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Pavel Kosov, Director General of Rosagroleasing JSC, Svetlana Linnik, Director of Pegas Agro, and Sergey Brovkov, BSP Agro Group Manager from Rostov-on-Don.

The first day of AGROSALON began with a press-conference on the occasion of the exhibition opening, where Andrey Efimov, the chairman of the exhibition committee, Konstantin Babkin, the president of the Rosspetsmash Association, and Sven Flashoff, the General Director of the VDMA Russia Association,  spoke. The members of the exhibition committee told about the tendencies of the world agricultural machinery industry development and announced the main figures of the exhibition.

Other important events of AGROSALON business program were round tables, workshops and conferences.

The most numerous and bright event was the “The Way to Big Milk: Forage without Mistakes” conference. The moderator was the General Director of the Milk Institute, expert Tatyana Nagaeva.  The pool of speakers included representatives of well-known companies with solid experience in this area: Agronote, Agrostat, Barenbrug, VMT Agro, Golovkovo, EuroChem Trading Rus, KWS RUS, Krasnokamsky RMZ, Rostselmash, Kverneland, Kuhn, Krone and Pöttinger. The speakers shared their secrets to help domestic farmers become more efficient and successful.

Representatives of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, FSUE "NAMI" and Russian Agricultural Bank took part in the events of Agrocomponent zone.

AGROSALON important events included the signing of agreements. For example, Rosagroleasing held management meetings with agricultural machine builders and regional representatives. Company's General Director Pavel Kosov signed cooperation agreements with three regions, and his deputy Aleksandr Suchkov signed 5 agreements with equipment manufacturers.

Within the framework of the exhibition, Gomselmash General Director Aleksandr Novikov signed three cooperation agreements: with Sergey Artamonov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Chuvash Republic and Minister of Agriculture, Dmitriy Filippov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ryazan Region, and Boris Shemyakin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Ryazan Region.

Peterburgsky Traktorny Zavod (Saint Petersburg Tractor Factory) has signed agreements with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Minister of Agriculture of the Chuvash Republic for the supply of modern equipment on optimal conditions for purchase.

Rostselmash company was working with the regions in a rich and productive way. At the exhibition, the plant signed four cooperation agreements with Orenburg and Kursk Regions, with the Republics of Chuvashia and Bashkortostan.

On 8 October, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Yuriy Borisov got acquainted with the latest developments of domestic agricultural machine-building at the AGROSALON 2020 exhibition. The Vice Prime Minister was accompanied by Aleksandr Morozov, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Konstantin Babkin, President of the Rosspetsmash Association, and Alla Elizarova, Director of the Rosspetsmash Association.

The Altai Agricultural Machine Building Plant, Almaz, Voronezhselmash, Eurotechnika, Claas, Navigator-New Machine Building, Pegas-Agro, Peterburgsky Traktorny Zavod (Saint Petersburg Tractor Factory) and Rostselmash demonstrated their equipment to Yuriy Borisov. Up-to-date tractors, combine harvesters, sprayers, balers, drilling machines, harrows, grain dryers and other equipment were presented at the benches.

The Deputy Chairman of the Government also got acquainted with the works of artists participating in the Positive Ideological Art Festival “Time, forward!”.

At the end of his visit, Deputy Prime Minister took part in a test drive of a Rostselmash smart combine harvester, during which he was able to personally verify the operation of electronic systems.

Special attention of AGROSALON guests was paid to the equipment that won the Independent Professional Contest of AGROSALON Innovations. A total of 47 products from all over the world were presented for the contest, and an international jury voted to select the best among them. The medals were awarded to 19 newly-designed products, 5 of which received gold and 14 received silver medals. The gold medals of the AGROSALON 2020 Innovation Equipment Contest were awarded to products of Rostselmash, Amazone, Claas, Rauch and Väderstad. All awarded models were presented in the exhibition halls. On 7 October, the solemn ceremony of awarding medals and honorary diplomas of the Contest took place in a festive atmosphere on the stage of the exhibition.

The last day of the exhibition was traditionally dedicated to young people. Students from 11 leading agrarian universities of Russia came to plunge into the world of agricultural machinery of the future. The young specialists were able not only to raise the level of knowledge, but also to find future employers among the participants.

AGROSALON became an event widely publicized by the mass media. Information partners were 58 leading industry publications and Internet portals, including Agroinvestor, Agrotechnics and Technologies, Krestyanskiye Vedomosti, New Agriculture and Svetich AgroMediaHolding. General Internet partner was Agro XXI portal. Journalists actively worked at the benches and promptly covered the most significant events of the exhibition.

AGROSALON is held in a common-European format – once every two years. The next exhibition will be held from  4 to 7 October, 2022 and will not only please visitors and participants with new industry innovations, but also reunite all industry participants!
